Domestic Bliss

Don't you love it when your children copy you - love the domestic influence Benji!
Who knows if Ollie will continue this behaviour in the future? But for now, to me it's domestic bliss!

Slitherin' snakes

What else do you do with 2 lolly snakes from Grandpa??
Put them behind your ears of course!

Baby Max

I was so happy to meet little Max at only 4 weeks old. How gorgeous he was and so small - doesn't take long to forget their tiny size!
Here are a few shots from the shoot. Thanks Zoe and Grant for letting me into your lives again (last time it was the wedding!).

More babushka dolls

Love these little dolls! This time they were for my lacrosse team! Shiho helped do all of the names of our players on the back plus the little lacrosse sticks - sooo cute!
Go Bombers! Back to back premierships yay! 2008 + now 2009! Love your work girls! Proud to be a bomber! xxx

Blossom trees

I took Ashtyn, Oliver, Tayla & Jade up to an old almond orchard (well they could be some other fruit tree - but I'll stick with almonds!) that was blossoming - so gorgeous. The kids had such a fun time running around and getting their photos taken didn't rank highly on their priority list! But I did manage to take around 330 photos and love them. I hope you enjoy them too. Here are just a small few of my favourites.

Baby Bump

I had the honour of shooting a gorgeous mother-to-be friend of mine (previously gorgeous Bride) who is just over 8 months. She looks so divine. Can't wait to meet little miss due in less than 4 weeks now. Thanks for letting me capture your bump Bec.

Babushka Dolls

I had my daughter's friend's birthday party and couldn't find anything to buy her (apart from some very glitzy shoes!) so I decided something homemade is more thoughtful than something purchased! And this is what I came up with...

Chilly Park Fun

It started off quite nice but then became soooo cold! But the kids didn't notice a thing. Thought it was great fun out there. Dad and I were quick to trott back home for a hot cup of tea!

Bouncing bride

I recently shot a wedding where the bride got ready at a Holiday park and with her bridesmaids took advantage of the trampoline! The weather that day was very threatening and surprisingly it actually held off pretty much, except for a little bit of rain. Love the impact of the clouds!

Little boy

Growing up so fast. Still not many words, but love the sounds "sss...kkcck". Gorgeous boy.
Love this little shadow.

Worth getting up for!

Up early one morning this week - but I have to say it was worth it! The sunrise was divine. The kids just thought it was fun to go outside on a cold winters morning in their pjs.
This is why we are alive!

Celebrating Mum's in 09

A kitchen full of kids! Love it.

Celebrating Mother's Day in 09 to me was...
- a little spare time for me (even if it was a run!)
- spending time with my wonderful mum
- celebrating the qualities of her
- celebrating the joys of being a mum
- time with family & other mums
- catching up with my special mother in law & hope it will be soon that we will be forever celebrating mother's day in the same country.

Looking forward to all the future Mother's Day to come.

Aldinga day trip

I took a small trip to Aldinga Beach last Friday with the kids to visit my friends, Michelle & Craig with baby Ava. It was such a fun day! We hit the beach after a yummy morning tea and lunch! The water was so warm and the waves were awesome. Craig and I took turns in borrowing Ashtyn's Tassie Devil blow up surfboard and despite the sponge like bouncing you got on the waves it was worth it! Thankfully they weren't dumpers - otherwise we could have been in trouble.
Thanks for your hospitality M & C - we had a great time!

See you soon. Love C, A & O xxx ooo

Spaghetti Delight

I had my two nieces over for tea the other night and it was great fun. Ashtyn of course, just loves it when they come over to play. And these days Ollie is pretty happy to have other kids over too. He doesn't always know what they are saying but watching him is hilarious as he joins in laughing when they are laughing too. So cute!
Here is the spaghetti evidence! I think some went down and not just on the floor.

Japanese Cuisine

My good friend Shiho, from Japan, has been catching up with me and my family now for some months. These photos show the amazing array of nori rolls/sushi she made for us! They were simply delicious and there was so much. I also made japanese pancakes but we didn't really need them. We had the fullest bellies afterwards from eating way too much! Thank you, Shiho!

Hair brush

Little Ollie just stood there loving the hair brush Ashtyn was giving him - so gorgeous. I don't blame him really - who doesn't love having their hair brushed??!

2008

This is 2008 in a snapshot of us, the Hackeroos! Although it is a really, really small snapshot of the photos I took in the year, I think it kind of summed up us visually.

I am looking forward to 2009 and seeing what it has to offer. I am feeling so creative and after checking some etsy sites it has fuelled my inspiration. So whether it's being creative with the camera or with some fabric or with scrapbooking I love it all! It's a wonder dinner gets cooked some nights!

Lucky me

I have been lucky enough to photograph the most gorgeous twin babies recently. Thanks so much to Susie & Peter and big sister Ava for letting me photograph Olivia and Holly.

Such sweet little bundles. And having 2 at once simply amazes me. Susie, managing 3 beautiful girls with such a positive focus, you deserve a medal!

Lazy Sunday at the beach

We spent the most of Sunday evening at the beach with the kids. It was glorious. The water was a little cool but once I finally had the guts to get it - it was divine. So refreshing and uplifting.

The kids, as usual, had a ball. So gorgeous. Little Ollie is his Quicksilver dacks - just loves it. He has no fear. Ben set up a sand castle city, with which the kids had great delight in smashing very quickly!

A lovely finish to the weekend. : )

Little diary

I just love my new diary from Kikki -K, soooo cute! However it doesn't fit in my filofax! So to overcome this I made a cover. I really prefer to carry a diary that has pockets for all my little tid bits I have. You never know when you'll need a sticker or pen!
So here is the result.
Love it. And now I have made a handbag to match - well I just love the fabric and can't decide what style skirt or dress to make with it. I will use it all up with my crafty items before it has a chance to get in my wardrobe in the form of a piece of clothing!

How it all began

It's funny when you look back to see what inspired the beginning of a new venture. For me it was the purchase of an SLR when my camera got stolen while in the UK. I was always a creative person but never really got into this medium but really did appreciate other peoples work.
Then after several years of mucking around (and spending a tonne of $$ on films, developing and processing) I took some photos of a family group (friends of others). They then asked me to photograph their daughters wedding.

I really couldn't believe they would trust that I would do a good job. But I have to say that it was and still is one of my favourite weddings and I loved every minute of it. I didn't get stressed out (this is an unknown until you are there!) instead thrived on it. So thank you Heather Jones for putting your faith into me, but also to Lauren and Marty who were my guinea pigs - thank you for allowing me to fulfill a desire and a dream.

I love photographing weddings, people, children, babies, and the odd pet I can get my hands on!
One day I'll have my own Westie that will be photographed endlessly - much like my children!
