December Daily - day 1

December Daily time!

I love December! I used to dread it in fact! The sheer thought of all the shopping, present idea thinking, cooking, wrapping, entertaining, battling christmas crowds would send me into cold sweat! But since joining Ali Edwards and hundreds (now thousands, I'm sure) of her followers in completing a December Daily - documenting the 25 days in the lead up to Christmas my attitude has changed!

Not only do I love completing this lovely project, admittedly I am a completely project oriented type of person, I walk around the shops, crowds, parties, family gatherings, queues with a smile on my face and camera in hand. Always wondering what small adventure I'll capture for the DD today?!

I love it! I think when each page comes together every day it makes it even more rewarding. I just love looking through my past 3 editions, opening the envelopes, looking at what we did on a daily basis -it's great. It's a true celebration of the everyday! And I love that! Thank you Ali Edwards!

It doesn't have to be complicated, in fact you could use an online photo book layout like you can find in Shutterfly, where it's all digital and all you need is time. Personally it's my treasured time at the end of the day where I get to be completely creative and put down my thoughts on the day - completely soul satisfying! Not to mention getting to stick and paste cute christmas embellishments totally makes me smile! Ahhh the love of stationary!

Join me on this adventure! I am going to attempt to post daily pages of December! mmm...not sure I can handle this as well! But will see.

Smith Family - Botanic Gardens

We had been waiting for a day where it wasn't raining, as it seemed like every time we booked a time to do the family shoot with the Smiths it ended up raining. So finally a few weeks ago we got the chance to meet at the end of a Wednesday in the Botanic Gardens where the sunshine was glorious and warm!
Little Jasmine was not so keen to have her picture taken but we did manage to snap some of her.

Jasmine & Blake's Surprise Wedding

It's not everyday I get to photograph a Surprise Wedding. Jasmine & Blake thought it would be a fabulous idea to catch everyone by surprise at the celebration of his '30th Birthday' - well this is what they were using as the reason to get everyone together! It was arranged that all the guests would be bussed up to Lazy Ballerina Winery where Jasmine & Blake would meet them. On the way apparently they began to twig as to what was about to unfold before them and they were in great spirits as the story unfolded and the truth revealed!
The day was just gorgeous and celebrations carried on at The Barn in McLaren Vale for lunch post ceremony.
Celebrant Bronwyn Lindsay was fantastic as she worked with the heckler in the crowd!

Congratulations Jasmine & Blake!

Spring love

I simply love love love spring time with all the flowers around and the warmer weather! These amazingly frilly wild poppies have begun to grow in my garden again and I simply adore them! I think they are so pretty. It's a pity they don't like to be picked! The gorgeous yellow and orange one is from my mum's garden. Divine!

Meet Eliza

Marissa & Trent were kindly given a photography voucher from some close friends during their pregnancy so they could have baby shots taken when the time  was ready. So 6 months down the track I had the pleasure in capturing Eliza. When I got there she was just waking up and I had forgotten how lovely little babies are when they just wake up - very alert, quiet, smiley & snuggly. She was divine.
For the next hour or so we set about capturing the 3 of them around the house. Little Eliza was pretty pooped by the end of it but we caught her being her gorgeous little self.
And I hope that every year she's photographed on her beautiful chair so eventually after 21 years they have a collection of shots showing her growth! I LOVE that chair!
Thanks Marissa & Trent & it was lovely to meet you and Eliza.

Samantha & Luke's Wedding Day

A few weeks ago Samantha & Luke tied the knot in Victor Harbor. The day was simply gorgeous & the details that Samantha & Luke had put into the day was brilliant! So many details & thought went into the day, it was just lovely & super romantic.
There are so many shots I love from the day & I can't wait to get them onto my website, but in the meantime here is a sneak peek...
